I believe it is sweet gum, which is super strong and light weight due to the woven grain pattern. The stick weighs 2.2 pounds or 1 kg and 59 inches. I was going to finish the ends with a stopper and some sort of end piece but I decided to let it go as is. That way the. User can cut it shorter with out undoing any modifications. I hate to see it go but someone will enjoy it, I hope.
